20 Things Every Brand Should Know About Instagram

As a Millennial, I can attest to the fact that Instagram is an effective platform when it comes to reaching me with ads. I find the sponsored ads on Instagram to be relevant and appealing–not annoying, like so many other platforms. I’ve made multiple purchases off of them (or other items from that particular brand), and actually found a few interesting startups to write about, as well.

Don’t take my word for it. Here are some hard facts about Instagram, both shopping-related and otherwise: (info from Websitebuilder.orgStatista, and Omnicore.)

It’s 55 percent, to be exact. If you’re looking to connect with this audience, it’s a good idea to be here.

2. Adult users in the U.S. have doubled since 2012

Remember that this isn’t just new users joining, but younger users coming of age.

The fact is, Instagram is more female: a whopping 68 percent of its users are female. #girlsrule
